Wrap up in Scarves!

It is snowing in New York. There’s a foot of snow at Penn State. There’s ice in Roanoke. It is slushy in Milwaukee. It might rain in southern California. It is, indeed, scarf weather!!!! In this issue of Fashion Forecast, I’m going to share with you my suggestions for some of the most stylish scarves on the market.

It doesn’t matter if you knit, weave, or crochet; this winter all of the three techniques are represented. There is, however, one characteristic that is consistent: Scarves are long. They are very, very long. Designer Marc Jacobs creates scarves that are 80” long! Missoni’s seersucker wool scarf measures approximately 117” x 12”!

Some are knit in the traditional direction in very interesting color combinations.

Some are woven.

Some are knit or crocheted horizontally. (There is good news and bad news with this: The good news is that there aren’t too many rows to knit. The bad news is the rows seem like they might never end!!!!)

And the color combinations are interesting and fresh.

Scarves seem to be everywhere. Let these pieces inspire you to knit, weave, or crochet like crazy!
